SPORTSPERSON VISITOR VISA
The Sportsperson Visitor is now a part of the 'Standard Visitor Visa' category. The 'Sports Visitor' category is for nationals of countries outside the European Economic Area (EEA) and Switzerland.
Applicants intending to participate in particular sporting events can apply for a Sports Visitor Visa.
Some of the acceptable sport related activities includes: - amateurs and professionals (individuals or teams) coming to the UK to take part in a specific sporting event; members of the technical or support staff or amateurs or professionals attending the same event (including team managers, personal coaches, doctors, physiotherapists, dieticians, bodyguards and press officers); Polo Grooms; officials, including those coming on a voluntary basis (including linesmen and umpires) etc.
To be eligible to apply for the Sports Visitor Visa, the applicant must be able to show that they want to visit the UK for not more than six (6) months to participate in the sporting event. They must prove that they can support themselves and any dependants financially whilst in the UK and have every intention to leave UK at the end of their visit.
Successful applicants can stay in the UK for a maximum period of six (6) months at one visit. During this period, they may be allowed multiple entries to the UK.
During construction, will there be any disruption or changes to the Ferny Grove train timetable?
The development and construction of Ferny Grove Central will not cause any disruption to the train timetable. Access to the station for pedestrians may be altered from time to time to ensure safe passage to the station is available.
Will there be any changes to the bike cages that are currently on site?
Some of the blue storage boxes will remain, however an area with undercover cages will also be provided.
What will happen to the kiss 'n' ride, commuter facilities and disabled carparks?
The kiss 'n' ride has been conveniently located adjacent to the station and the bus stop, all other facilities will be reinstated within the new development, many in improved locations with better connections to the station and buses.
Is motorbike parking still available?
Yes, the 10 motorbike spaces have been relocated undercover
Will the new development cause more traffic issues for the surrounding roads?
The new connection to Samford Road, the relocation of traffic lights and new access points for the commuters will ensure that traffic is managed efficiently. There have been many traffic reports undertaken to ensure that the development does not cause increased impacts on the surrounding road network. The new connection to Samford Road will assist with the movement of all traffic through and round the site.
Will there be a separate carpark for the supermarket and do you have to pay?
Yes, there will be a secure basement carpark, containing about 320 cars which is free for the first 3 hours. If you intend staying at the centre longer there will be a cost. If you are visiting the cinema and your movie extends over the 3 hour limit, your ticket will be validated for this additional time.
Will the shops be open for extended trading hours therefore creating noise for surrounding residence?
The council has restricted the trading hours for the outdoor dining to ensure that residents surrounding the development are not disturbed.
Will there be bike parking and end of trip facilities provided for retail customers?
Yes, secure bike parking, showers and lockers are available for the staff and visitors to the centre.
When is construction of Ferny Grove Central starting and when will it be complete?
Construction of Ferny Grove Central is subject to Brisbane City Council and Department of Transport and Main Roads approvals. Construction is expected to begin in July 2021 and the build is anticipated to take approximately 28 months.
Where will I park during construction? Will any access be restricted?
The majority of car parks will still be available at the station. The Developer will work with the local authority and State to seek temporary car parking for commuters during construction.
Will there be notice that changes to the parking are happening?
Yes. Signage advertising the timing for the removal of the carparks will provide advanced notice of the impending closure of the affected areas.
What are the construction hours for the builder?
The builder has been approved to carry out construction work from 6.30am - 6.30pm, Monday - Saturday.
Will the new retail and residential apartments at Ferny Grove Central have their own car parks?
Yes, both the residential and retail portions of Ferny Grove Central will have their own dedicated car parking bays - these will be separate to commuter parking.
